The Prayers of the People July 6, 2014

For all who are called to follow Christ: that we might put into practice what we hear in his teaching and profess in our worship: we pray to you, O God:

Open our hearts this day to your love.

For all people throughout the world whose hearts are moved by your presence, who love and serve you in spirit and truth; that we might recognize them as our brothers and sisters, we pray to you, O God.

Open our hearts this day to your love.

For all who are afflicted by evil; for the victims, and for those who do harm; that we might love our enemies, and overcome evil with good: we pray to you, O God:

Open our hearts this day to your love.

For the leaders of governments and corporations, that they be courageous, responsible, and just, and serve the common good: we pray to you, O God:

Open our hearts this day to your love.

That we might be grateful for the blessing of every moment, especially for the gift of life that has been entrusted to us: we pray to you, O God:

Open our hearts this day to your love.

For a right relationship to money, that we might be set free from greed and fear, and learn to live with greater trust:  we pray to you, O God:

Open our hearts this day to your love.

That we might have diligence and pleasure in our care for the earth, and a sense of kinship with all living creatures: we pray to you, O God:

Open our hearts this day to your love.

For our families, that we might love one another without anger, bitterness, or regret; and that our private sufferings, carried from one generation to another, might be healed: we pray to you, O God:

Open our hearts this day to your love.

For those who are in need of healing, especially . . . add your own names . . . and all people facing natural disasters in our country and around the world; and all people whose lives are affected by war.….. that they be restored to wholeness of body, mind, and spirit: we pray to you, O God:

Open our hearts this day to your love.

We commend to you those who have died: that they may find a place with all Creation in your risen and completed Body: we pray to you, O God:

May we all be one, as you O God are One.
